INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES

Admissions will be made to Part-Time (Externally registered research scholars) Ph.D / M.S. research programs offered by the J N T University Hyderabad in the following faculties and respective departments / subjects.

Note: The University reserves the right to cancel or change the vacancies in any department or specializations based on availability of research supervisors / research facilities in the department.

ELIGIBILITY

For admission into Ph.D Program

2	SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY	M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Tech.) in appropriate / relevant field of Science & Technology. For Pharmacy : B.Pharmacy and M.Pharmacy or Pharma.D.
3	MANAGEMENT SCIENCE	Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Note: Candidates must have Post Graduate Degree in concerned discipline with a minimum of 55 % of marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination as per above eligibility. For SC / ST / BC candidates the aggregate shall be 50% as per UGC-2016 guidelines.

Eligibility for Interdisciplinary branches

For admission in to M.S by research program

Candidates must have a B.E. / B.Tech. / B. Pharmacy degree or its equivalent. with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the respective qualifying exam. For SC / ST / BC candidate it shall be 50% marks in aggregate. M.S. is essentially a research program for candidates in service. It is not a regular session based M.Tech course.

EMPLOYMENT:

Candidates who are working in reputed organizations including well equipped educational institutes / scientific and research organizations / R&D Units / industries / Governmental Organizations and in colleges affiliated to the Universities and engaged in Scientific / Technological / Engineering / Managerial activities, as the case may be are eligible to apply for part-time Ph.D / M.S program. The candidate shall continue to work in the organization. Candidates working in colleges affiliated to the Universities are eligible apply provided the place of research work is either the institution in which they are working or the constituent college / unit of the university, where necessary facilities are available.

SUPERVISOR (for Part-Time Ph.D. / M.S.)

⟶ The Research Supervisor is from JNTUH tentative department and specialization wise list enclosed. Only full time regular teacher of the University can act as a supervisor. No external supervisors are allowed. However, Supervisor/Co-Supervisor from reputed research organizations can be allowed in inter-disciplinary areas from other departments of the same institute or from other related institutions with the approval of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the University.

⟶ If the proposed research area by the candidate is not inline with the area of specialization being offered by the University the admission to such candidates may be denied by the University.

⟶ The University reserves the right to change the vacancy positions as per University norms.

PLAN OF RESEARCH WORK (for Part-Time Registration)

⟶ Candidates must submit, along with their application form, a well conceived plan of research work, with evidence of having initiated a preliminary study (at least 500 words).

⟶ At the time of interview the candidate is required to present in the form of PPT the proposed research work to the selection committee.

⟶ PLACE OF RESEARCH WORK AND FACILITIES AVAILABLE

In the case of part-time candidates, working in the organizations, details regarding the availability of the required research facilities at the place of work must be given. The place of work must be recognized by the University as a place with adequate research environment.

Part-Time candidates working in the company / organization / college must produce, from the Head of the Organization, a “No Objection Certificate” on the organization’s letter head containing the name, designation mobile no., Email of the person issuing the certificate for the candidate to take up the Research work, and permission for the supervisor from the university to visit the organization periodically to monitor and assess the research work of the candidate.

MODE OF SELECTION

Based on the performance in Entrance Examination conducted by JNTUH and Interview performance including the weightage of research publications and PPT presentation of the proposed research work.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

⟶ An entrance examination is of 100 multiple choice questions.

⟶ Duration of entrance examination is 2 hours.

⟶ The minimum qualifying marks at the entrance examination is 50% for OC, 45% for BC and 40% for SC/ST category.

INTERVIEW BY SELECTION COMMITTEE:

Interview will be conducted for the candidates qualified in any of the test.

⟶ Entrance examination conducted by J N T University Hyderabad.

⟶ The candidates who qualify the UGC-NET /UGC CSIR NET/ SLET/GATE/GPAT/Teacher Fellowship and other tests or who passed M.Phil. program, as per UGC-2016 guidelines. However they should appear for the interview.

⟶ Candidate is required to select the area of specialization in their department and prepare the tentative research proposal of not more than two pages. At the time of interview the candidate is required to present the research proposal through PPT to the selection committee.

FEE AND OTHER PAYMENTS

On selection for admission, candidates shall be required to pay the prescribed admission fee of Rs. 1500/-, Tuition fee for first year of Rs. 30,000/- per annum and other admissible fee prescribed by the University for Part-Time Research Program. Details of fee payment particulars for Part-Time Research Programs, Methodology of research and evaluation procedure etc. can be known from the office of the Director, R & D, J N Technological University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
